1. Data Controller

LinguaTaal (referred to as 'we', 'our', or 'the Platform') is the data controller responsible for the personal data processed through linguataal.com and associated mobile applications in accordance with the Dutch Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG) and EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).

2. Personal Data We Collect

Account Details: Full name, email address, user avatar, language bridge selection (Native/Target).
Learning Progress Data: Spaced repetition (SRS) memory logs, mastered vocabulary, grammar exercises, quiz scores, daily streaks, XP points.
AI Interactions & Voice Logs: Text dialogue messages with AI tutor Emma and temporary audio recordings processed for pronunciation feedback.
Payment & Subscription Records: Transaction ID, billing cycle (monthly/annual), subscription validity end date. Credit card / bank details are processed directly by our payment provider Mollie and are never stored on our servers.

3. Third-Party Data Processors (Sub-processors)

We share data only with trusted technological infrastructure providers bound by rigorous Data Processing Agreements (DPA):

User authentication, encrypted database (Firestore), Gemini AI processing.

Mollie B.V. (Hollanda)

PCI-DSS compliant payment processing (iDEAL, Bancontact, Cards).

High-performance edge serverless application hosting.

5. Age Restriction & Child Safety

LinguaTaal services are intended for individuals who are 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without parental consent. Live audio/video features (Praatcafé) are strictly disabled for underage participants.
